And the house comes tumbling down...

After building this house almost 10 years ago, finally doing something to it. Pretty amazing as most people figured I'd do something constantly. Well there's a new cermanic tile floor going into the kitchen, mudroom and bathroom. The guys showed up yesterday around 10:00 am. They got the old floor pulled up and about 90% of the backer board down. They left around 3:00 pm. Before they left, they said they would be here "early" on Tuesday. They arrived at 9:50 am....so I guess their definition of early is anything before 10:00. I give them credit, they work hard but today got off to a bad start......the witch of the house was here (telework is a nice thing!)

Yesterday we talked about them moving the appliances (which I paid to have done!) and they told me they didn't pull dishwashers out. Well I thought about this and I also have paid to have tile put where the dishwasher sits. So this morning I brought it up again and told them the entire conversation I'd had with John when he came to measure the rooms. They called someone who said they don't pull the dishwashers...fast forward to the bitch switch nearly being flipped on! I calmly said while these guys were talking...that is not what I was told and someone better get their shit together because mine is. Tomorrow they will be pulling the dishwasher.

Then when they brought the tile into the house, we realized that the expensive deco tiles were the wrong color. GRRRRRR! Now it's not these guys fault.... Plus the wrong number of pieces was ordered. GRRRRRRR! John (from above) has ordered the deco tiles and they were suppose to arrive late this afternoon so they would have them tomorrow.

Tonight while looking at the tiles that had already been placed, discovered there was one with a big crack through it....guess what's first on the agenda in the morning.

I'm glad they only asked for a deposit and not payment in full up front.

Everyone wonders why I don't do a lot to the house.....geezzzzz....oh yeah, next month, putting hardwoods in the living room and foyer.

Let me go park my broom for the night.....
